The classic 170 km circuit of the Mont Blanc massif through France, Italy and Switzerland, anticlockwise from Les Houches: Col de Voza, the Contamines valley, the Croix du Bonhomme, Col de la Seigne into Italy, Courmayeur and the Val Ferret balconies, Grand Col Ferret into Switzerland, Champex and Trient, then Col de Balme and the Aiguilles Rouges balcony back to Chamonix. Weather risk is afternoon thunderstorms on the cols, late-lying snow on the north sides in June, and wind and cold on the 2,500 m crossings.
