About Glenfinnan & Loch Shiel
RambleMetric is a real-time conditions app for Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel — one of Scotland's most historic and scenically dramatic locations. The Glenfinnan Viaduct (made famous by Harry Potter) and the Jacobite Monument at the head of Loch Shiel combine walking, history and cinema in one extraordinary Highland setting.
Glenfinnan village is easily accessible but the Highland terrain above the glen and around Loch Shiel is serious mountain country. No phone signal beyond the village. Weather changes rapidly. The lochside path is muddy year-round and subject to flooding.
