About Thetford Forest
RambleMetric is a real-time conditions app for Thetford Forest — England's largest lowland forest at 47,000 acres of Corsican pine on the Breckland heaths of Norfolk and Suffolk. High Lodge Forest Centre is the hub for cycling, walking and Go Ape, with excellent year-round access on sandy forest rides.
Thetford Forest is an actively managed commercial forest — logging vehicles use forest roads and tracks may be temporarily closed during operations. After storms, wind-thrown trees can block paths. Sandy soils make some areas difficult in very wet conditions.
