Conwy, North Wales, Wales
The Great Orme rises dramatically from the Irish Sea — the summit has a lighthouse, Bronze Age copper mines and the world's only passenger cable car on a public road. CoastMetric ensures you visit when the conditions are right.
About Great Orme
CoastMetric is a real-time conditions app for the Great Orme — a spectacular limestone headland rising 207 m above Llandudno and the Irish Sea. The headland is a Country Park with Bronze Age copper mines, a cable car, and 5 miles of clifftop paths with outstanding North Wales and Irish Sea views.
The Great Orme has unguarded vertical cliff drops on its north and west faces. In strong westerly or northerly winds, conditions on the summit plateau and cliff paths are severe. The Marine Drive road is exposed to salt spray and may be slippery.
